CSN students and faculty receive NSHE regents' awards

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has been recognized by the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) with prestigious awards for both students and faculty members. Two individuals from CSN have earned top honors, showcasing their achievements and contributions to the academic community.

Giovanni Jones, a student set to graduate in May 2025 with a degree in Hospitality Management, received the Sam Lieberman Regents’ Award for Student Scholarship. Giovanni has consistently excelled academically, earning spots on the Honors and Dean’s lists. He serves as CSN's Student Body Vice President and played a significant role in reviving the CSN Honors College program. His involvement extends to various student organizations such as the Black Student Union, Coyote Scholars Brotherhood, and the Black Male Mentorship program.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Giovanni has secured several scholarships, including those from Coyote Campus Engagement and MGM Resorts International Hospitality Management. His community engagement includes volunteering with the NFL Las Vegas Super Bowl Committee and contributing to the creation of a math scholarship.

Andrzej (Andrew) Lenard, a CSN math professor, was honored with the Nevada Regents’ Creative Activities Award. This award acknowledges creative accomplishments that garner national and international recognition for NSHE. Andrew is celebrated for his artistic vision, innovation, and dedication to creative excellence.

Both Giovanni Jones and Andrzej Lenard have demonstrated exceptional leadership and creativity within their respective fields at CSN.
