According to PACT, 86% of voters report that their cost of living has risen over the past year, with 56% saying it has increased significantly. Research from PACT indicates strong public support for reforms aimed at curbing lawsuit abuse and easing its financial impact on families. Key measures, including greater transparency on attorney fees (83%), reducing auto insurance costs (77%), and capping legal fees (67%), have received widespread approval.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform's 2024 report on tort costs revealed that these expenses reached $529 billion in 2022. This accounted for 2.1% of the U.S. GDP and translated to a $4,207 cost per household, highlighting an increasing financial strain that the tort system imposes on the economy.
As per the Nevada Current, in 2024, Las Vegas ranked 10th among U.S. media markets for legal services advertising spending, with trial lawyers investing over $44.8 million in 547,953 ads across television, radio, and digital platforms. Notably, Las Vegas led the nation in digital legal advertising expenditures.
