Western Nevada College (WNC) and Great Basin College participated in Rural Day at the Legislature, emphasizing the importance of rural community colleges in Nevada. For many participants from WNC, it was their first visit to the Nevada Legislature Building, where they learned about state government operations and interacted with key leaders.

The delegation attended a senate meeting and engaged with state senators and assembly members, gaining insights into legislative processes. They met representatives such as Senate District 15's Angela Taylor, Senate District 17 Minority Leader Robin Titus, Minority Whip Senate District 16 Lisa Krasner, Assembly District 5's Brittney Miller, Assembly District 14's Erica Mosca, and Assembly District 28's Reuben D' Silva.

WNC highlighted its dedication to education and community by sharing information about the college and distributing promotional items. The visit included a photo opportunity with Willy.

The event was made possible through the efforts of students, faculty, and staff who represented Western Nevada College with enthusiasm.
