Western Nevada College (WNC) is organizing a series of fundraising events throughout March to support its nursing students. These events aim to provide financial assistance for educational and professional development opportunities.
On March 28, a country music night will take place at the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City. The event will feature performances by the Jakota Wass Band and special guest Dutch Carson starting at 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from this event will help fund the WNC chapter of the National Student Nurses' Association's participation in the 73rd national convention in Seattle. Tickets are available for $50, with a discounted rate of $25 for WNC students using a code provided by WNC Nursing and Allied Health. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite by searching "A Night of Country Music."
Another fundraiser will occur on March 25 at Chick-fil-A located on South Carson Street. Between 5 and 7 p.m., 10 percent of sales will go to support WNC’s Second-Year Nursing Club.
Additionally, the NSNA is conducting a 50/50 raffle throughout March. Raffle tickets are priced at $5 each, with discounts available for bulk purchases: five tickets for $20 or thirty tickets for $100. Interested individuals can purchase tickets by contacting Lisa Dunkelberg via email or phone.
