The Nevada Division of Insurance has launched a new online resource page to assist residents affected by the liquidation of Key Insurance Company. This action follows a court decision on April 1, 2025, by the Shawnee County District Court in Kansas, which declared Key Insurance Company insolvent and moved its status from rehabilitation to liquidation.

In response, the Division has created a page on its website tailored for Nevadans, providing vital information and support. This page includes frequently asked questions, links to necessary forms, contact details, and instructions to obtain new coverage. It aims to guide policyholders, claimants, and insurance producers.

All Key Insurance policyholders have been urged to secure alternative coverage immediately to prevent a lapse in their auto insurance, which could result in fines or penalties. They are encouraged to contact licensed brokers or agents. Should replacing coverage present challenges, the Division offers support through its contact details: (888) 872-3234 or insinfo@doi.nv.gov.

For individuals unable to find insurance through conventional means, the Division suggests reaching out to the Western Association of Automobile Insurance Plans (WAAIP) at (800) 227-4659. WAAIP is designed to connect qualified drivers with insurers when standard options are unavailable.

The Division, dedicated to safeguarding Nevada consumers and ensuring insurer solvency, provides more information at DOI.NV.GOV.
