AGC Charities Inc., in collaboration with Kokosing and United Rentals, organized a volunteer effort to build all the walls for a new Habitat for Humanity house in Delaware and Union Counties. This event brought together volunteers from across the country, who gathered at Kokosing’s campus in Westerville to cut and assemble prefabricated walls. These walls will be erected on land owned by Habitat for Humanity for a local family in need.

"The volunteers were there because they enjoy the experience, but they also understand how important it is to give back to our communities,” stated Lainee Perala, chair of AGC Charities Inc.

The volunteers, all members of the Associated General Contractors of America, participated in this project before attending their annual convention at the Columbus Convention Center from April 8 to 10. Kokosing, based in Westerville, played a major role in organizing the supplies and coordinating the effort, with support from United Rentals and AGC Charities Inc.

Participants worked in teams to assemble all the exterior and interior walls, working alongside the family who will eventually live in the house, as well as with members of Habitat for Humanity Delaware and Union Counties, United Rentals, and Kokosing.

“One of the great things about a project like this is you get to spend the better part of a day working side-by-side with colleagues and competitors from across the country on something that is as fun as it is worthwhile,” commented Brian Burgett, Chairman of Kokosing.

Funding for the project was contributed by individual members of the Associated General Contractors of America, alongside United Rentals and Kokosing. AGC Charities serves as the philanthropic division of the national construction industry association.

"United Rentals is proud to partner up with Kokosing and AGC Charities Inc., to spend the day volunteering in communities representing an amazing cause that brings families one step closer to their dreams all while team-building and having fun. We couldn’t be happier to be part of this special day,” said Craig Schmidt, senior vice president of national accounts, United Rentals.
