Western Nevada College students aged 18 and older have the chance to attend a national Climate Conference in Washington, D.C., thanks to a scholarship. The Citizens' Climate Lobby is organizing the event, scheduled for July 18-22. The Carson City chapter, through the WNC Foundation, offers a $1,200 scholarship to cover expenses for eligible students.
To apply for the scholarship, students must complete an application and answer three specific questions. Applications are due by April 15 and can be submitted to the Foundation Office or by email.
The application questions include: "1. Why are you interested in attending the climate conference? 2. How does or has climate change impacted your life, family or places you care about? 3. Have you participated in any climate related activities?"
Interested students can visit the conference's website for more information.
