The Nevada Division of State Parks and the Nevada Department of Wildlife have reported that Cave Lake Reservoir at Cave Lake State Park has returned to full capacity. This follows the completion of the Cave Creek Dam project, and the reservoir is currently flowing over its new spillway. The fishery is also being replenished, with 17,000 fish being stocked throughout the spring by NDOW to encourage a sustainable fishing environment.
Visitors can look forward to engaging in recreational activities at Cave Lake State Park once more, though there is a warning to be cautious due to debris from vegetation that grew in the lakebed during the reconstruction.
In celebration, Nevada State Parks, in coordination with the Nevada Department of Wildlife and White Pine County, will hold a "Rediscover Cave Lake" event. Scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the event will offer various outdoor activities and family-friendly entertainment. Applications for vendors, sponsors, and volunteers are currently open, with a deadline for vendor applications set for May 7, 2025.
