The recognition of exceptional employees is an important initiative, as demonstrated by the recent announcement of May's Classified Employee of the Month. Suzanna Sardarian, serving as an Administrative Assistant VI at the Centers for Academic Success Charleston Campus, was nominated for this accolade by Dr. Shellie Keller.

Dr. Keller highlighted Sardarian's positive demeanor, stating, "Suzanna demonstrates an excellent attitude working with our entire team, faculty, staff, students, and me. For example, she responds to many of the incoming requests and concerns in our department and always maintains a great attitude while seeking solutions and ensuring individuals feel heard and that they matter."

The award is part of a program recognizing outstanding classified employees. Recipients receive $200, a certificate, a plaque, and a designated parking spot, along with recognition across all three campuses. This initiative seeks to honor those who consistently perform at a high level.

Additionally, the "Rewind & Recognize" initiative aims to acknowledge recipients of the Classified Employee of the Month (CEOM) title who were previously awarded in 2023 but did not receive the attention they deserved. The Classified Council emphasizes the importance of fostering a culture of appreciation within the community. Through programs like "Rewind & Recognize," the council seeks to ensure that every classified employee's contributions are valued.

Vice President of the Classified Council, who is also an Administrative Assistant IV in Student Affairs, underscored the significance of these efforts in promoting gratitude and acknowledgment within the workforce.
