More than 20 faculty members at the university have been granted tenure and promotion, which will become effective on July 1, 2025. These awards acknowledge their contributions to research, teaching, and service within their respective academic fields.
Promotions to Full Professor were awarded to the following individuals: Kayla Bieser of Biology, Amber Howerton of Chemistry, Shantal Marshall of Psychology, and Jennifer Edmonds of Biology from the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business. Amanda Carter was promoted within the School of Education as a Professor of Literacy/Reading. Nathaniel King also received the title of Dean and Professor of the Library at the University Library.
Several faculty members were elevated to the rank of Lecturer. Nathan Silva was named Distinguished Lecturer of Biology, and Andra Scano becomes Distinguished Lecturer of Nursing. Nicholas Carroll advanced to Senior Lecturer of Spanish and Program Coordinator, while AnnaSheila Paul achieved the same title for Visual and Digital Media. Clark Pearson became a Senior Lecturer of College Success, all in the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business.
The institution also granted tenure to multiple Associate Professors. In the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business: Molly Appel and Laura Decker in English, Nicholas Arnet, and David Cooper in Chemistry, El Hachemi Bouali in Geosciences, and Pete Martini in Psychology. Rachel Herzl-Betz received tenure in both English and the Writing Center. Other tenures include Sheri Bayley in Speech Pathology and Young Choi in Early Childhood Education within the School of Education, Bo Liang in Marketing, Timothy Malacarne in Data Science/Analytics, and Alena Manjuck at University Library. Jamie Palmer-Asemota from the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Business was also awarded tenure in Sociology.
