Nevada State University is set to hold its 2025 commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 10, at the Thomas & Mack Center. The event will begin at 11 a.m., celebrating the achievements of 869 graduates. This marks the second-largest graduating class in the history of the university. Degrees will be awarded across various fields, including nursing with more than 315 graduates, education with 195 graduates, and over 365 graduates in liberal arts, sciences, and business.
The university will also bestow honorary degrees upon notable individuals. These include Jason Frierson, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada and former Speaker of the Nevada Assembly; educational advocate Marydean Martin; and Richard Perkins, President and CEO of The Perkins Company as well as a former Speaker of the Nevada Assembly. Perkins will deliver remarks during the ceremony. He played a significant role in passing legislation that led to the founding of Nevada State University.
