Western Nevada College's Kathy Cocking has been honored with the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement. The accolade was given during the annual ceremony on May 9, where Cocking emerged as the recipient among 16 nominees.

Cocking boasts over 40 years in nursing, encompassing executive roles in hospitals and contributions to quality improvement. Her tenure at Western Nevada College has been marked by significant leadership in the nursing program and mentoring of future healthcare professionals.

"Kathy is an incredible educator and leader whose commitment to her students and the healthcare community has created a lasting legacy," stated WNC President Dr. Kyle Dalpe. "This national recognition is well deserved and speaks to the deep impact she’s made in classrooms, hospitals, and across Northern Nevada."
