Nevada Main Street has announced that three communities in the state have received national accreditation. The organization, which now includes 27 groups representing 32 communities, distributed over $662,000 in grant funds to support 23 projects across 16 locations. This effort led to the creation of numerous jobs and businesses in 2024.
According to Nevada Main Street, these initiatives resulted in "382 full-time jobs, 149 part-time jobs, and 124 new businesses," along with "66 rehabilitation projects, 10 public improvement projects, and over $11,000,000 in public and private investment."
The organization also welcomed 11 new affiliate-level organizations committed to enhancing downtown areas through preservation-based economic development. This designation signifies a dedication to improving community spaces.
Main Street America reported significant national impacts in 2024 as well. It facilitated "$7.65 billion in local reinvestment" and contributed to the opening of more than "6,000 businesses," creating nearly "34,000 new jobs across the nation."
