The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents has elected Byron Brooks as Chair and Stephanie Goodman as Vice Chair for the 2025–2026 term. Their one-year terms will commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026.

Byron Brooks joined the Board of Regents in 2020 to represent District 3. He is a U.S. military veteran with a strong dedication to service and community advocacy. His previous roles include serving as a board trustee for Congregation Ner Tamid, a suicide prevention instructor for the Nevada Coalition of Suicide Prevention, and a mentor for the Veterans Treatment Court. Brooks also led the Board of Regents in 2023 and currently chairs the Investment Committee while serving as Vice Chair of the Health Sciences System Committee. Outside his board duties, he is an entrepreneur who mentors veterans and participates actively in the Jewish community.

Stephanie Goodman was elected to represent District 13 on the Board of Regents in 2022. A native of Las Vegas, she is committed to enhancing Nevada through public service and education. With extensive experience in communications and business ownership, Goodman previously worked as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Las Vegas, contributing significantly to downtown redevelopment efforts. She also leads Nevada’s largest nonprofit gambling addiction treatment center to promote behavioral health support access. As a UNLV graduate and former student body president, she advocates for expanding higher education access and ensuring students have clear career pathways.

Together, Brooks and Goodman aim to guide NSHE's initiatives towards student success while aligning them with Nevada's workforce needs.
