TMCC recently hosted the Tesla Semi First Responder Awareness Training, presented by Tesla’s Semi Operations Group. The event took place on June 3 and aimed to provide first responders and public safety professionals with essential knowledge about the Tesla Semi's all-electric powertrain, advanced safety systems, and emergency response protocols. Participants engaged in classroom instruction and hands-on interaction with the vehicle to learn best practices for handling incidents involving this commercial vehicle. This training was facilitated through a partnership with TMCC EPIC (Educational Programs Inspiring the Community).

In another development, the Rotary Clubs of Reno and Sparks have supported TMCC's Automotive Technology program with a donation of $9,939.46. This funding matches support from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) and will be used to acquire automotive components for instructional purposes. Students will gain practical experience by rebuilding a Chevy training truck and a classic 1928 Ford Model A, which may participate in the Hot August Nights Restoration competition in 2026. Additionally, Reno Rotary contributed $15,000 towards scholarships and support for diesel students.

TMCC has also enhanced its breastfeeding support by installing Mamava lactation pods at several locations: Dandini Campus' Sierra Building Learning Commons, William N. Pennington Applied Technology Center Study Area, Meadowood Center's Vending Machine Area, and near Rooms 107 and 108 at William N. Pennington Health Science Center. These pods offer private spaces for nursing or pumping.
