The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Videography students celebrated a significant achievement at the NATAS Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards held in San Diego. The students received five awards, marking a successful evening for the program.
CSN's videography students were nominated 18 times in the Student Production Emmy categories, securing victories in several key areas. Hisonni Johnson, who was also the 2025 Commencement Speaker, won awards in two categories: Fiction/Non-Fiction Short Form with "Silenced" and Animation/Graphics/Special Effects with "Legend Has It: The Remarkable Rise of Stephen McCain." Christina Dietrich received an award for Writing with "Eighteen," while John Wherry won for "Getting Cut." Johnson further added to his accolades with a second win for Directing with "Legend Has It."
Emmy judges and staff extended personal congratulations to the students, acknowledging their exceptional work and the program’s strong reputation for excellence.
"This achievement is a tribute to all of us," stated Videography and Film Professor John Aliano, expressing pride alongside the students.
This recognition underscores CSN's commitment to preparing students for careers in film, media, and television production. Winning multiple Emmy Awards at the regional level demonstrates the program’s dedication to high-quality training and creative excellence.
