A few weeks ago, Dr. Stacy S. Klippenstein witnessed over a thousand students from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) graduate at the Thomas & Mack Center. Reflecting on this event, Dr. Klippenstein expressed his commitment to fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment as CSN's new president.
Dr. Klippenstein emphasized the importance of raising graduation and transfer rates while supporting diversity and inclusivity within the institution. He stated, "Those graduates are why we’re here — and I pledge to you from day one that my primary focus as CSN’s president will be on creating engaging, inclusive and equitable learning environments for all students to succeed."
Acknowledging CSN's role in the community, Dr. Klippenstein noted the support from external leaders and partners, asserting that CSN must reciprocate by being a supportive partner itself. He remarked, "That is my charge as CSN’s president — to support our students and our communities."
Dr. Klippenstein called for collaboration among faculty and staff to achieve institutional goals, highlighting the need for shared governance: "For us to be a successful institution, we must work together to achieve our desired goals."
Expressing gratitude towards various stakeholders who have supported his transition into this role, he said, "I am so grateful for the support of the regents, the chancellor, Dr. Kibler and his team." He also encouraged open communication with all members of the CSN community: "Please know that my door is open to you — no matter who you are."
Dr. Klippenstein concluded by expressing enthusiasm for future engagements through forums and town halls aimed at building a stronger foundation for CSN.
