The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is currently accepting applications for the opening day and first weekend of the 2025 dove hunting season at the Overton Wildlife Management Area. Interested hunters must submit their applications online by 11 p.m. on July 21. The application link can be accessed through a banner on NDOW's website, directing applicants to "Apply for Overton Dove Reservation."
Draw results will be announced by August 1, with successful applicants notified via email. The dove hunting season begins on September 1, with the opening weekend scheduled for September 6-7. Only hunters holding valid reservations will be permitted to hunt in the Moapa Valley Portion of the Overton Wildlife Management Area during these days.
According to regulations, this specific dove hunt zone has a maximum capacity of 60 hunters during the reservation period. This system aims to manage overcrowding and ensure a quality hunting experience. Should there be any vacancies, they will be filled by stand-by hunters on a first-come, first-served basis.
