Carson City, NV — Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford has joined a coalition of 18 attorneys general in condemning the Trump administration for deploying the California National Guard against protestors without state coordination.

"The president’s decision to federalize and deploy California’s National Guard without the consent of California state leaders is unlawful, unconstitutional, and undemocratic," said the coalition. "The federal administration should be working with local leaders to keep everyone safe, not mobilizing the military against the American people."

The statement emphasized their role as chief law enforcement officers committed to protecting communities and opposing violence. The group expressed support for Attorney General Bonta's challenge to what they described as illegal conduct by the Trump administration.

"We oppose any action from this administration that will sow chaos, inflame tensions and put people’s lives at risk — including those of our law enforcement officers," they added.

The statement was issued jointly by attorneys general from Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon and Vermont alongside AG Ford.
