Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is making strides in bridging the gap between education and industry through partnerships that impact local and national businesses. TMCC President Dr. Jeffrey Alexander recently toured Stellar Snacks, a rapidly growing snack brand based in Carson City, which emphasizes sustainability and inclusivity.

Stellar Snacks, known for being the only Woman-Owned Pretzel Manufacturer in the Western USA, collaborates with TMCC on an apprenticeship program offering hands-on training and career development. Elisabeth Galvin, owner of Stellar Snacks, stated, “By hiring from TMCC, we not only support the local workforce but also continue to build a talented and Stellar team.”

TMCC's Associate of Science in Engineering program prepares students for careers in engineering sectors by providing a strong foundation in mathematics and physical science. The college also offers training in business development, sales, marketing, culinary arts, and more.

Galvin highlighted the opportunities at Stellar Snacks: “Our employees have the chance to earn certification as a Pretzel Maker,” showcasing their commitment to employee development.

The partnership between TMCC and Stellar Snacks demonstrates how educational institutions can address skills shortages by preparing students for dynamic job markets. Truckee Meadows Community College remains dedicated to delivering quality education with practical elements through strategic partnerships.
