U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) has announced that the 29th annual Lake Tahoe Summit will take place on August 6, 2025, in South Lake Tahoe, California. The theme for this year's event is "Protecting Lake Tahoe: Balancing Sustainable Recreation and Conservation." The summit will honor the legacy of California Senator Dianne Feinstein, who co-founded the event with Nevada Senator Harry Reid in 1997. It will be held at Valhalla Tahoe, a venue favored by Feinstein and the site of her last hosted summit in 2019.
The gathering will include federal, state, and local stakeholders as well as representatives from the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California. These groups aim to continue Feinstein's efforts to preserve Lake Tahoe for future generations.
“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to host the annual Lake Tahoe Summit this year. Senator Dianne Feinstein was a stalwart protector of Lake Tahoe, and as someone who has the honor of filling her seat in the U.S. Senate, I look forward to continuing her commitment to protecting this precious resource for future generations,” said Senator Schiff.
Senator Schiff is known for his environmental activism and recently introduced legislation aimed at preserving open space in Los Angeles through the "Rim of the Valley" initiative. This background aligns with his new role in hosting the Lake Tahoe Summit alongside other government officials and community organizations.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 10:00 am PT. Attendees will include Senators from California and Nevada, Governors, Members of Congress representing Lake Tahoe, and Jeremy Renner as the keynote speaker.
Registration for virtual attendance remains open as in-person slots are full.
