Western Nevada College Foundation will hold its eighth annual Reach for the Stars Gala on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Joe Dini Library in Carson City. The event, themed “Fire & Ice,” will feature dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing, and presentations from two recent graduates.
The gala is supported by a number of local sponsors including Briggs Electric, Metcalf Builders, Southwest Gas Corporation, Quick Space/United Rentals, Greater Nevada Credit Union, Carson Tahoe Health, Carson Valley Health, Classic Finishes, America First Credit Union, United Federal Credit Union, Comstock Inc., Plumas Bank, 3C House, Pay It Forward Project, Holiday Inn Express and Hometown Health.
During the evening Catalina Wilson, a 2025 WNC graduate, will speak about her educational journey. Alba Morales, who graduated from the nursing program in 2024 and has established her own scholarship fund, will also be recognized.
“If you haven't attended a Reach for the Stars Gala presented by WNC Foundation, now is the time!” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “WNC Foundation and volunteers put on an incredible evening of entertainment, fine dining and community engagement — but most of all, it’s for an incredible cause in supporting our students and college.”
The event aims to raise funds for scholarships and programs designed to help build the regional workforce. Sponsorships are available from $1,000 to $10,000 and provide businesses with exposure to attendees committed to supporting education in the region.
Tickets are available at $200 per person or $380 per couple; a table for eight can be purchased for $1,500. More information can be found at https://www.wnc.edu/reach or by calling the WNC Foundation Office at 775-445-3240.
