Caleb Cage, President of Arc Dome Strategies, appeared on Nevada Newsmakers to discuss the state’s role in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Cage noted that the United States is currently lagging behind in this sector but emphasized recent progress. “We’re seeing an ‘incredible amount of industry and innovation around catching up,’” he said.
Cage highlighted Nevada’s unique position in the EV supply chain. He stated that Nevada is the only state with all stages of the EV supply chain present and also hosts the country’s only operating lithium mine. This positions Nevada as a leader in supporting domestic production for electric vehicles.
The development of lithium resources is important for battery manufacturing, which is central to the growth of electric vehicles across the country. As demand for EVs increases, states like Nevada are expected to play a larger role in meeting national goals for clean energy and transportation.
