United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) has announced a series of upcoming community events in Las Vegas, aiming to engage residents through volunteerism, education, and support programs.
The Women United Speaker Series will hold its next session titled "Powerfully Unapologetic" on August 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the UWSN office. The event features four women leaders discussing leadership experiences. Tickets are available for $15 for Women United members and $40 for non-members.
In partnership with NV Energy, UWSN will host the 2025 Project REACH Senior Expos throughout August at various locations. The expos offer financial assistance to seniors aged 62 or older who are struggling with overdue utility bills due to economic hardship. These events will take place on August 19 at Palace Station Hotel & Casino, August 21 at Aliante Casino & Hotel, and on August 26 and 28 at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall.
On September 19, UWSN’s largest volunteer event, the Day of Caring presented by PNC Bank, will begin at Town Square Park at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers from across Southern Nevada will participate in nearly 40 projects that aim to help families, students, seniors, and individuals in need.
Another installment of the Women United Speaker Series is scheduled for September 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also at the UWSN office. Strategist Stacey Wedding will lead a discussion on “The Six Types of Working Genius,” focusing on workplace strengths and collaboration.
UWSN will also host a Trunk or Treat Halloween event on October 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., where community members can decorate their car trunks and distribute candy to children in the organization’s parking lot.
