Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) has launched a new slogan, “Your Story Starts Here,” as part of its branding for the Fall Semester. The campaign was developed with input from faculty, staff, students, community partners, and branding professionals to reflect TMCC’s role in helping students begin their educational journeys.

Kylie Rowe, Executive Director of Research, Marketing and Public Affairs at TMCC, stated: “Your Story Starts Here" is more than a slogan—it’s a promise. At TMCC, we open doors to opportunity for every student and connect education to the region’s growth. From skilled trades to university pathways, our students’ stories strengthen Nevada’s workforce and enrich our community. This campaign reminds us that the success of Northern Nevada begins with the opportunities created at TMCC.”

The college is encouraging current students, alumni, and community members to share their experiences using the hashtag #MyTMCCStory on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, or X.

In addition to the new branding initiative, TMCC is promoting school spirit through “TMCC Tuesdays,” when students and staff are invited to wear green and black. Spirit Day will take place on September 9. The campus bookstore is offering a 20% discount on logo gear during these events.

Sherry Davis, TMCC Bookstore Manager, commented on seasonal merchandise: “Hoodies are the best because it’s layering season.”

Cafe Verde in the Red Mountain Building continues to serve food and beverages for students needing meals or snacks throughout the day. Samuel Wesley, Food Services Manager at TMCC, said: “Convenient and healthy food is important when it comes to learning.” The cafe offers fresh sandwiches, salads, chef-inspired specials, grab-and-go snacks, drinks, and an espresso bar in the Sierra building.

TMCC also participated as an official sponsor in the 2025 Hot August Nights Youth Automotive Challenge held at UNR. The event introduces young people to classic car culture while providing scholarships for outstanding projects. Wyatt Ziebell from TMCC’s Automotive Technology program served as a judge alongside other industry professionals.

Ziebell remarked: “The Youth Automotive Challenge is a great way for younger people to get involved in the classic car world while earning scholarships for their hard work. Partnering with TMCC and our Automotive program made perfect sense, and it was an honor to be involved.”

The TMCC Foundation and Grants Office contributed by raffling off a certificate for an automotive class during the event.

TMCC plans to continue its involvement with Hot August Nights in support of young automotive enthusiasts in Northern Nevada.
