The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents has approved steps to appoint an acting president for Nevada State University. This move is intended to provide leadership stability during a transition period at the university.

Chancellor Matt McNair recommended the action after discussions with Board Chair Byron Brooks, Vice Chair Stephanie Goodman, and members of the campus community.

“This decision allows us to move forward with identifying an acting president for Nevada State,” said Board of Regents Chair Byron Brooks. “This step ensures that the university will have dedicated leadership in place as we continue this important transition.”

“Nevada State’s mission remains front and center,” said Chancellor Matt McNair. “We will keep students, faculty, and staff informed as we name an acting president. Our focus is a smooth transition and the continued success of the university.”

The Board indicated it will communicate updates about the selection process to ensure transparency and maintain confidence among students, faculty, and staff.
