The Nevada Farm Bureau Federation is inviting young agricultural leaders to participate in the upcoming Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Discussion Meet, which will take place during the organization's annual meeting in Winnemucca. The event is designed for individuals between the ages of 18 and 35 who are interested in testing their communication skills and expanding their knowledge of agriculture.
According to organizers, the YF&R Discussion Meet simulates a committee meeting where participants discuss key agricultural topics. Judging focuses on how well contestants engage with each other, collaborate, and propose practical solutions.
"This isn’t a debate—it’s about building consensus and showing how agricultural leaders can come together to solve real-world issues," according to the announcement.
Winners at the state level will have an opportunity to compete nationally, either at the American Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet or the Collegiate Discussion Meet, depending on eligibility. Cash prizes are also available for top performers.
Questions for the 2026 Discussion Meet are already available and will be used during the 106th Nevada Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. Those interested can sign up to receive updates on news from Nevada Farm Bureau.
