Las Vegas recently hosted the Leadership & Enrichment Seminar 2025, organized by Dr. Raymond Giddens, Jr., who serves as both the Director of the College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) Funeral Services Program and the 8th District Governor of the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association.

During a luncheon on September 15 at the Downtown Grand Hotel, Dr. Janice Glasper, Dean of the Engelstad School of Health Sciences, and Cassie Gentry, Department Chair for Health Related Professions, introduced attendees to CSN’s new Funeral Services Program. The program began this fall and aims to train future professionals in funeral services.

"Because let’s face it: death is certain, but a skilled, compassionate workforce doesn’t happen by accident. CSN is making sure Nevada is prepared, with graduates who are equal parts science, service, and heart," said event organizers.

The introduction of this program addresses a need for qualified workers in funeral services within Nevada.
