The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that its Compliance Enforcement Division (CED) has received several awards at the 2025 American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) ceremony. The event, which took place in Phoenix, Arizona, recognized agencies and individuals from across the United States and Canada for achievements in motor vehicle administration, law enforcement, and highway safety.

This year’s AAMVA awards program had over 400 submissions across 23 categories. The CED was honored as one of the leading public safety agencies for its work in fraud detection and prevention.

Director Tonya Laney commented on the recognition: “Words can’t even describe how exceptionally proud I am of our Compliance Enforcement Division. Many people don’t even know the DMV has a police department, but trust and believe, our officers are doing amazing work, and these awards are proof of just that.”

More information about the CED Stolen Vehicle Recovery Program and individual recognitions for JD Decker and Mike Giddens can be found on the AAMVA awards page.
