The Nevada Farm Bureau Federation is inviting young agricultural professionals to participate in the upcoming Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Discussion Meet, which will take place during the organization's annual meeting in Winnemucca. The event is designed to simulate a committee meeting, where participants discuss significant agricultural topics and are evaluated on their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The competition is open to individuals between the ages of 18 and 35. The format emphasizes consensus-building rather than debate, aiming to demonstrate how agricultural leaders can work together to address real-world challenges.

Winners at the state level will receive cash prizes and have the opportunity to represent Nevada at the national level, either in the American Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet or the Collegiate Discussion Meet, depending on their eligibility.

The questions for the 2026 Discussion Meet will be used during the 106th Nevada Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. Those interested in participating or staying informed about updates from the Nevada Farm Bureau are encouraged to sign up for news alerts.

"Are you ready to test your communication skills, deepen your knowledge of agriculture, and engage with other passionate young ag leaders? The Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) Discussion Meet is your opportunity to do just that—and we want YOU to compete!"

"This isn’t a debate—it’s about building consensus and showing how agricultural leaders can come together to solve real-world issues."
