NSHE System Computing Services will hold a series of free cybersecurity webinars throughout October in recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The sessions are open to all students, faculty, and staff within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Participants do not need to register in advance but must use their institutional email to join.
The webinars will cover topics such as the risks associated with digital convenience and the increasing threat posed by AI-driven deepfakes. According to NSHE, "the experts are logging on to share the latest in digital defense from the cost of convenience to the rise of AI-powered deepfakes."
Recordings of each session will be made available online for those unable to attend live events. Additional information, including webinar details and Zoom links, can be found at scs.nevada.edu/cybersecurity-awareness.
As stated by NSHE, "Because in today’s world, clicking carelessly can cost more than just your Netflix password."
