United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) will host its first Trunk or Treat event on October 29, offering a free and family-friendly Halloween celebration. The event, presented by Quantum Fiber, is scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the UWSN office located at 5830 W Flamingo Rd in Las Vegas.
The Trunk or Treat aims to provide a safe environment for children and families to participate in Halloween activities, including collecting candy and enjoying decorated vehicle trunks. Organizers encourage costumes but note that they are not required for participation.
Community members and organizations have the opportunity to get involved by hosting a trunk or donating candy. Those interested in hosting a trunk must supply enough candy for up to 300 children and ensure decorations are suitable for all ages. Spots for hosts are limited, and applications can be submitted online through the UWSN website. Candy donations of unopened, individually wrapped treats are being accepted at the UWSN office until October 24.
The event is sponsored by Quantum Fiber, Las Vegas Athletic Clubs, Lotus Broadcasting, and Reagan Outdoor Advertising. More information about volunteering, hosting a trunk, or making donations is available at uwsn.org/treat.
