Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) announced that its Testing Center Proctoring Team has received national certification from the National College Testing Association (NCTA). This recognition highlights TMCC’s focus on maintaining testing integrity and professionalism.
In 2024, the TMCC Testing Center administered over 12,000 exams. That number increased in 2025, with more than 13,200 tests already conducted. The NCTA proctor certification is expected to strengthen the center’s reputation as a reliable provider of testing services.
“This certification reflects TMCC’s commitment to excellence and to providing students with the highest quality testing experience possible through our certified proctors,” said YeVonne Allen, Interim Vice President of Student Services.
The NCTA certification means that TMCC’s proctors have been trained to deliver exams in a secure and consistent environment. Students may benefit from reduced stress and expanded access to exams, as many national exam providers prefer sites staffed by NCTA-certified proctors.
With certified staff on campus, students can take a broader range of exams at TMCC, which can save time and money while supporting academic and career advancement.
“We are proud of our Proctoring Team for achieving this distinction, which not only validates their hard work but also ensures our students have access to secure, fair, and nationally recognized testing services,” said Yuli Chavez Camarena, Director of Testing Services.
To earn certification, each proctor completed professional training aligned with NCTA standards. Certified Proctors at TMCC include Helen Scott, Karen Davidson, and Cheyenne Todd. Their training covers secure exam administration and ethical practices.
“Our team is dedicated to creating a positive and secure experience for every student who comes through our doors, and this certification confirms we’re meeting national standards of best practice,” said Helen Scott, Testing Center Manager.
The Testing Center provides placement testing, accommodated testing for students with disabilities, proctored exams for college courses, high school equivalency tests (HiSET), industry certifications, professional licensure exams, and exams for other colleges or universities. With the new certification status, TMCC aims to continue upholding fairness and integrity in all its testing services.
