Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) recently concluded its 2024 soccer season with an awards banquet held on November 21 at the TMCC Fitness Center. The event saw attendance from donors, faculty, and other guests.

Geoff Hawkins, the Athletics Director and Head Women’s Soccer Coach, extended his gratitude to those who supported the Mighty Lizards throughout the season. He also expressed optimism about future successes in spring competitions and aspirations for participation in NJCAA-level sports across various disciplines.

Estela Levario Gutierrez, representing the TMCC Athletics Department and Vice President of Student Services, presented a Gratitude Award to President Dr. Karin Hilgersom. This award was given in recognition of her role in establishing the Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs back in 2019.

During the banquet, Hawkins and Men’s Soccer Head Coach Kyle Kelly took time to honor each student-athlete who received recognition. This included outgoing sophomores as well as individual award recipients.

In Women’s Soccer, Mayra Munoz was named Most Valuable Player. Abigail Ramirez received Best Offensive Player honors while Yamilet Carrillo was awarded Best Defensive Player. Catherine Rubio was recognized as Most Improved, and Felicity Codman received the Mighty Lizard Award.

On the Men’s side, Fernando Robles took home Most Valuable Player accolades. Brandon Escobedo earned Best Offensive Player honors; Gage Gardner was named Best Defensive Player; Jesus Delgado was recognized as Most Improved; and Guillermo Hernandez received the Mighty Lizard Award.
