Western Nevada College announced on May 11 that its Class of 2026 will be honored during two separate commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 18 in Carson City and May 20 in Fallon.
The college said the Carson City ceremony will take place at Marv Teixeira Pavilion in Mills Park at 10 a.m. on Monday, while the Fallon graduation is set for Wednesday at Rafter 3C Arena, also beginning at 10 a.m. Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe, president of Western Nevada College, will deliver opening remarks and congratulate graduates as they cross the stage.
Stephen Jon Thompson, described as an author and tech executive, is scheduled to serve as keynote speaker for both events. The college stated that family members, friends, and community supporters who cannot attend can watch livestreams of both ceremonies at wnc.edu/live. The Nursing program’s Pinning Ceremony will also be available via livestream.
Both events will follow a clear bag policy with all bags subject to search by University Police for safety reasons. Additionally, the Carson City campus will be closed to the public on May 18; the Fallon campus will close Wednesday morning until reopening at 11:30 a.m.
