Western Nevada College honored 58 graduates of its nursing program during a Pinning Ceremony held May 18 at the Carson City Community Center.

The event marked an important milestone for the students as they prepared to begin their careers in healthcare. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and supporters, the graduates received pins and recited the Nightingale Pledge.

The ceremony featured remarks from Nursing & Allied Health Director Dr. Audrey Auer and Western Nevada College President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe, along with a keynote address from Lisa Dunkelberg. Graduates were introduced individually, awards were presented, and a class photo was displayed before participants received their pins.

“Our Pinning Ceremony celebrates more than academic achievement: It honors the compassion, perseverance and dedication these graduates will carry into the healthcare profession,” President Dalpe said. “Our nursing graduates are entering careers where they will make a difference in the lives of patients, families and communities every day. We are proud of the knowledge, skill and heart they have developed at WNC, and we look forward to the impact they will have across Nevada and beyond.”

Western Nevada College offers modern classrooms, laboratories, libraries, student support centers across campuses in Carson City, Fallon, and Minden; it is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education and holds accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities according to its official website.

A recording of this year’s ceremony is available online for those who wish to view it.
