Western Nevada College President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe participated in a luncheon with regional and international leaders on Friday, aimed at strengthening global ties.

The event was hosted by Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager and Assemblymember PK O’Neill in partnership with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. It featured Republic of Ireland Senator Mark Daly, who serves as Majority Leader and is the highest-ranking member of the Irish Senate.

Attendees discussed ways that partnerships between Ireland, the United States, and Nevada could foster collaboration in education, workforce development, and economic growth.

President Dalpe commented on the opportunity to reconnect with O’Neill and Yeager during the event. “It was also great to catch up with O’Neill and Yeager,” he said.

Melody Duley, Chief Human Resources Officer & Chief of Staff at Western Nevada College (WNC), and Tracy Mendibles, Assistant to the President, were also present for discussions focused on international cooperation.

Western Nevada College operates campuses in Carson City, Fallon, and Minden. The college is part of the Nevada System of Higher Education and offers associate degrees, certificates, workforce training programs, and bachelor’s degree collaborations. WNC emphasizes student achievement through affordable programs, small class sizes, personalized instruction, modern facilities such as classrooms and laboratories, outreach to rural areas via online options, student support centers like libraries, and maintains accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
