Western Nevada College (WNC) has welcomed three new faculty members to its Nursing Program for the 2024-25 academic year. Alyshia Fairbanks, Erika Holiday, and Amber Price have joined the team, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise.

“We are excited to have enlisted such qualified new faculty,” stated Dr. Audrey Auer, WNC Director of Nursing. “Amber, who has worked in many healthcare disciplines; Alyshia, who is also a WNC alumni; and Erika, who has earned her doctorate at an esteemed university are excellent additions to our faculty team.”

The positions were partly funded through the 2023 Legislative session. Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe, WNC President, noted the importance of this addition: “With the expected growth of our nursing program in the coming years, the additional faculty members couldn’t come at a better time.”

Alyshia Fairbanks, a Fallon resident and former student of WNC’s Nursing Program, now serves as a full-time instructor in Fallon. She started her career at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center and has worked in various roles before becoming an RN.

Erika Holiday holds degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno and Johns Hopkins University. She transitions from part-time to full-time faculty at WNC with enthusiasm for mentoring students.

Amber Price began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at WNC and brings over 24 years of medical experience. She is now contributing as a clinical instructor and Readiness and Retention coordinator.

The Nursing and Allied Health Division at WNC offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Nursing aimed at preparing students for further education or careers in nursing.
