WNC President joins PBS Reno Board of Trustees

Western Nevada College announced that its President, Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe, has been elected to the Board of Trustees for PBS Reno (KNPB Channel 5). PBS Reno provides programming across northern and central Nevada and northeastern California, aiming to educate, inform, and inspire viewers. The station’s Board of Trustees includes regional leaders who help shape its strategic direction and community engagement efforts.

Kurt Mische, President and CEO of PBS Reno, commented on Dr. Dalpe’s appointment: “Dr. Dalpe brings deep experience in education and a strong commitment to community service. We’re honored to have him join the board, and we look forward to his contributions as we continue to serve our region.”

Dr. Dalpe has been at the helm of Western Nevada College since 2022 and has nearly three decades of experience in higher education. He expressed his enthusiasm for joining the board by stating: “Public broadcasting has long played a vital role in education and lifelong learning. I’m excited to support PBS Reno’s mission and ensure its impact continues to grow across our region.”

During Dr. Dalpe’s tenure at WNC, the college has seen increased enrollment, the launch of a new career center, and enhancements in workforce development programs.
