Western Nevada College Foundation is set to host the seventh annual Reach for the Stars Gala on Saturday, August 10, at 6 p.m. at the WNC Dini Library in Carson City. The event aims to combine elegance with futuristic themes, encouraging attendees to support educational initiatives.

Carson Tahoe Health, a significant partner of WNC, will sponsor the student speaker at this year's gala. Paula Mayer, Development Officer for Community and Foundation at Carson Tahoe Health, emphasized the importance of community collaboration: “For us at Carson Tahoe Health, this gala is a testament to the power of community collaboration. Every contribution and every ticket purchased helps us advance healthcare and academic opportunities for the entire region. Together, we can create a healthier, brighter future for all.”

The Reach for the Stars Gala plays a crucial role in making higher education accessible through fundraising efforts. Niki Gladys, Executive Director of WNC Foundation, highlighted their mission: “At the heart of WNC’s mission lies the commitment to shaping a future where every dream is within reach. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering academic success in Nevada, the WNC Foundation supports students through scholarships, programs and projects.”

Since its establishment in 1949, Carson Tahoe Health has been committed to enhancing community health and well-being beyond hospital services. As a non-profit health system, it reinvests earnings into improving patient care and providing community resources. The organization continues to lead in healthcare thanks to community support over the past 75 years.

The gala aims to provide essential resources such as scholarships and opportunities that enable students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their full potential. By investing in WNC’s students and programs, attendees contribute to developing future leaders who will impact society positively.

Tickets for the event are priced at $200 per person, $380 per couple or $1,500 per table of eight. For sponsorships and ticket purchases, contact the WNC Foundation Office at 775-445-3240 or visit wnc.edu/reach.
