CSN commenced the Fall 2024 semester with a convocation on Monday, August 19, at the Nicolas J. Horn Theatre on the North Las Vegas Campus. Faculty, staff, and administrators gathered for a morning of networking, recognition, and community engagement.
Dr. Lawrence Weekly served as the emcee, maintaining high energy throughout the event. The program began with CSN alum Michael Greene performing the National Anthem. The CSN faculty Jazz Band provided musical entertainment.
Acting President Dr. William Kibler addressed attendees, focusing on transparency and community values.
A notable highlight was the awarding of tenure by Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. James McCoy, recognizing faculty members' dedication to CSN’s mission.
India Barton presented Years of Service awards, acknowledging long-serving staff members' contributions. This segment emphasized the strong sense of community within CSN.
The event concluded with Distinguished Awardees receiving honors for their commitment to excellence. The CSN cheer team closed with a performance of the college’s fight song.
The 2024 Fall Convocation celebrated the CSN community and set a positive tone for the upcoming academic year.
