United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is set to host its ninth annual Day of Caring on September 13, an event aimed at mobilizing hundreds of volunteers for community service. Sponsored by PNC Bank, the initiative invites participants to collaborate with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations to address various needs in Southern Nevada.

The day's activities will commence with a kickoff celebration at 8:30 a.m. at Town Square Park in Las Vegas. Following the ceremony, volunteers will disperse across the valley at 10 a.m. to engage in nearly 40 projects designed to benefit the community.

These activities include enhancing school gardens, assembling school supply kits for local students, and distributing essential food items to those in need. The collective effort aims to positively impact thousands of families, students, seniors, and individuals.

“At United Way of Southern Nevada, our ninth Annual Day of Caring, presented by PNC Bank, is a testament to the incredible spirit of our community,” said Samuel Rudd, COO/CFO of United Way of Southern Nevada. “It’s an opportunity for us all to come together, roll up our sleeves, and make a lasting impact. Every act of kindness, big or small, helps build a stronger, more connected Southern Nevada.”

Denette Suddeth, PNC regional president for Nevada stated: “Like the United Way, PNC cares deeply about the communities where we live and work. PNC runs a United Way campaign nationally, and we are excited to launch our Nevada campaign at this year’s Day of Caring.” She added that as a board member and volunteer with United Way she has witnessed the significant positive effects volunteering can have on the community.

United Way of Southern Nevada’s Day of Caring is also sponsored by KCEP-FM Power 88.1.

Volunteer projects will start at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Organizations interested in participating or sponsoring UWSN’s Day of Caring can register online.
