Potts, an economist, joined GOED when it was created by former Governor Brian Sandoval in 2011. Initially serving as the agency's first research director, he ascended to the deputy director position in 2019.
Construction employment rises across majority of US states

Construction employment increased in 39 states in July from a year earlier, while 29 states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between June and July, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America today. Association officials noted that demand for projects—and the workers to execute them—remains robust in most states but there is a pressing need to prepare more people for careers in construction.

After growing up in Fresno, Camit and his family moved to northern Nevada to look for more opportunities. Camit’s goal was to follow his father’s footsteps in attending college, and he knew to look for support on campus. Fortunately, he found the TMCC Success First Summer Bridge Program, which provided him the chance to get extra support while also taking free classes.
