Tmcc celebrates perfect nclex pass rate; natural history museum unveils new displays

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is celebrating a significant achievement as the Maxine S. Jacobs Nursing Program reported a 100% pass rate for its graduates on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in the first quarter of 2024. As the director and professor of the hotel management program at CSN, Dr. Lonnie Wright has dedicated over three decades to the fields of gaming, resort management, and hospitality. He is also the founder of the Hospitality International Training Academy, a school focused on training culinary industry workers. His influence extends globally, having been recruited by the American College of Singapore to develop a hotel college and being sought after by top hospitality companies and government agencies for his expertise.

Dr. Dorian Stonebarger, GOED’s former director of strategy and public policy, has been appointed deputy director of the agency. Prior to GOED, Dr. Stonebarger served as the chief policy advisor to Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tempore Brian Knudsen, as well as program director at Three Square Food Bank. Potts, an economist, joined GOED when it was created by former Governor Brian Sandoval in 2011. Tmcc celebrates success of its First Summer Bridge Program

For first-time college student Kevin Camit, having clear goals in mind has helped him focus on studying for a career in psychology. After growing up in Fresno, Camit and his family moved to northern Nevada to look for more opportunities. Camit’s goal was to follow his father’s footsteps in attending college, and he knew to look for support on campus. Fortunately, he found the TMCC Success First Summer Bridge Program, which provided him the chance to get extra support while also taking free classes.
