Nevada court dismisses mass voter challenge ahead of November elections

A mass voter challenge lawsuit in Washoe County, Nevada, has been dismissed with prejudice. The lawsuit was initiated by the Citizen Outreach Foundation and targeted over 11,000 voters for removal from Nevada's voter rolls. The ACLU of Nevada intervened in the case to protect these voters' rights.


Red Rock Review joins Las Vegas Book Festival on October 19

The Red Rock Review, the literary journal of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), will be present at this year's Las Vegas Book Festival. This event is known as Nevada's largest literary gathering and offers a day filled with books, authors, readings, and workshops. The festival is free to attend and welcomes families.

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is inviting Black and Brown male students to participate in the first meeting of the Coyote Scholars Brotherhood (CSB). Scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, this student-led organization aims to promote unity, leadership, and engagement among students. The gathering will take place at the Charleston Campus Multicultural Center from 2 to 3 p.m., with refreshments provided.


Students invited to join Rise University for civic engagement training

CSN is inviting students to participate in Rise University, a training event designed to teach students how to take action and organize their communities around issues they care about. This event is hosted in collaboration with NextGen America and aims to help students become civically engaged and equipped with the tools needed for real change.


Douglas County updates South Shore Area Plan; Barton Hospital project delayed

A separate application from Douglas County to update the South Shore Area Plan has been initiated. However, elements of the update that included a special subdistrict for a medical facility on the Barton property, formerly known as Lakeside Inn and Casino, have been removed from the application while additional documents are prepared.
