Russ Poulin announces retirement after three decades with WICHE

Russ Poulin, executive director of WCET and vice president of technology-enhanced education for the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), has announced his retirement at the end of this year. WICHE President Demarée Michelau confirmed that both WCET and the WICHE Commission were informed earlier this week.

Construction employment rises across majority of US states

Construction employment increased in 39 states in July from a year earlier, while 29 states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between June and July, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America today. Association officials noted that demand for projects—and the workers to execute them—remains robust in most states but there is a pressing need to prepare more people for careers in construction.

After growing up in Fresno, Camit and his family moved to northern Nevada to look for more opportunities. Their presence, along with a keynote address by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, provided an uplifting moment that recognized the success of the conservation of Lake Tahoe. The annual event additionally underscored ongoing challenges in the region and the need for sustainable funding to support multiple initiatives.
