Western Nevada College (WNC) students are increasingly participating in summer research projects, with a record number involved for the second consecutive year. These students are part of the IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program, studying various subjects including microorganisms, plants, endangered species, and gene products found in cancer cells. Their research primarily took place outdoors at Wild Oat Mountain and Topaz Lake.

Las Vegas, NV – Following two separate coyote incidents at Pittman Wash over the past week, the Nevada Department of Wildlife is advising increased caution for those in the area. In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 7 and again Friday, July 12, a coyote bit two separate women walking in Pittman Wash near Green Valley Parkway in Henderson. Each of the women suffered puncture wounds on their lower leg and sought treatment at area hospitals.

The Las Vegas-based Richard Harris Law Firm contributed $861,607 to political candidates and committees in Nevada between 2017 and 2023, according to a March 1 report from the American Tort Reform Association (ATRA). ATRA President Sherman "Tiger" Joyce said the firm spends large amounts of money on ads to solicit new clients while also financially supporting the campaigns of judges throughout the state, leading to a high volume of "excessive" lawsuits.
